Core VAlues

As an organization, we have five major values we use as a guide to make our decisions. We believe these values set us apart and bring clarity to the kind of culture we encourage. Whether you're familiar with these values or not, we hope you are able to experience the power at work within each one.

Christ Centered

Jesus is the lens and driving force behind all we do. His life, death, and resurrection changes everything. Because of Him, we experience God's love through a relationship with Him. This love changes us and moves us to respond by loving other people. Our cause is Jesus' will and our motivation is His love. It's Christ living in us and through us.
Galatians 2:19-20

Compassionate Hospitality

Hospitality can best be understood as a person inviting guests into their home. This gesture is often made toward family members or close friends. With this perspective in view, we wish to invite all people into LYN House. Maybe in some small way during this exchange, our guests will feel valued and welcomed into something like a home.
Romans 17:5

Wholistic

If we know anything about Jesus, we know that He meets the needs of each person. In fact, He is restoring each person from a broken life to a whole life in Him. We participate with this truth by helping alleviate the needs that come with living in the inner city. It is our hope to alleviate the educational, relational, emotional and spiritual needs of the community.
Matthew 25:34-36

Christian Community

By identifying ourselves as a community, we realize that we are people who need other people. Our lives were not meant to be lived in isolation or seclusion. It's this idea that we all have something to learn from each other. Each person has intrinsic value and worth. Because of this truth, we open ourselves up for anyone to be a part of this community.
Acts 2:42-47

Transformational Care

One of the greatest truths of Jesus is that we are constantly being transformed by His presence in our lives. God uses a variety of different ways to transform people. We believe that anyone who participates with LYN House is also participating in the kind of transformation God intends for our lives. It's the subtle change that occurs when we participate in what God is already doing.
Luke 14:12-14
