Our Mission

LYN House partners with families to strengthen literacy
and confidence, helping children grow into capable, compassionate individuals. Guided by faith and community, we build life-changing relationships through one-on-one tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment.

Our Core Values

1. Faith in Action

We are a Christ‐centered, faith‐rooted community. We live out God’s love through compassion, integrity, hospitality, and service — letting our actions reflect what we believe and creating space for the church community to put faith into practice.

3. Learning & Growth for all

We support the whole child — academically, socially, and emotionally. We use evidence‐based literacy practices, set shared goals, and learn together as children, families, volunteers, and staff grow with and from one another.

5. Community Roots

We are shaped by and accountable to the Near Eastside of Indianapolis. We partner with families, schools, churches, and community organizations to respond to local needs with humility, collaboration, and hope.

2. Relationships First

We believe transformation happens one relationship at a time. We prioritize deep, committed one‐on‐one relationships that honor consistency, trust, and presence — choosing to deepen impact rather than simply broaden reach.

4. Dignity & Belonging

We believe every person is valued, seen, and capable. We create spaces where children, families, tutors, and neighbors feel safe, welcomed, respected, and celebrated.

6. Sustainable Stewardship

We care for our people, systems, and resources so our work — and our relationships — remain strong, healthy, and impactful for years to come.
