​Strategic core pillars

Below are our 4 priorities in our current strategic plan. Our main purpose behind each priority is to strengthen and equip families to rise above poverty. 

Pillar A: Deepen our Core

Focus: Strengthening the one-on-one model.

This pillar is about strengthening the one-on-one model and represents the highest staff priority. Serving as the non-negotiable anchor for the 2026–2028 strategic period, the focus is on protecting the heart of LYN House: depth of relational one-on-one tutoring and mentoring grounded in faith, trust, and belonging.

Pillar C: Care For Our Team

Focus: Staff, board, and internal systems because healthy people mean healthy ministry means healthy community impact.

This pillar focuses on caring for the staff and board, and building the internal systems and structures required to sustain the LYN House mission long-term. Healthy people lead to a healthy ministry, which ultimately creates a healthy community impact.

Pillar B: Volunteer power

Focus: Tutors as the engine of the model.

Volunteers are the engine of the one-on-one model. When tutors feel confident, equipped, and supported, children thrive. We want to reduce the student waitlist while simultaneously strengthening the quality of every relationship.

Pillar D: Tell Our Story

​Focus: Visibility, messaging, and fundraising

This pillar focuses on strengthening LYN House’s visibility and communicating the organization's impact with care, consent, and dignity. The guiding safeguard is that stories must never exploit—they must honor the individuals and families served.
