LYNCC is a way for the LYN House to provide a “link” to its neighbors. Meeting the emotional and physical needs, the LYN House will provide a safe place for teens to hang out, gain leadership skills, explore arts, and a place of community where they feel they belong and are welcomed. LYNCC will also provide opportunities for the community to gather for meals.
LYNT: Love Your Neighbor Tutoring
LYNT is designed to draw individuals close to God through tutoring and mentoring. Meeting educational, emotional and spiritual needs, this program will provide tutoring and mentoring to school-age children and adults. For children, LYNT will provide 1:1 tutoring and mentoring. LYNT will be partnering with (www.indyreads.org) to help meet the literacy needs of adults.
LYN D: Love Your Neighbor Development
LYND is a way for the LYN House to “lend” a hand to our neighbors by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the community. This project is designed to connect volunteers with the community beyond the doors of the LYN House and help create unity within the neighborhood. The LYN House will provide help with yard work and basic home repair, and be available for other emergency needs in the surrounding area. This ministry is a great opportunity to arrange a small group to come for a short term mission trip to an urban setting. |
